Best puzzle games to try after Sokoban
If you've cleared a few warehouses here, these three free browser games are worth a look next.
2048 — the same planning, a different grid
2048 trades crates for numbered tiles: slide and merge matching tiles on a 4x4 board to build your way up to 2048 and beyond. Like Sokoban, a careless move can box you in — the skill is in reading a few moves ahead, not reacting to the current board alone.
Sudoku — methodical, one grid at a time
Sudoku asks you to fill every row, column and 3x3 box with the digits 1-9, each appearing exactly once. There's no pushing or planning around walls, but the same "work it through carefully, no guessing" mindset that gets a Sokoban level solved applies here too.
Minesweeper — pure logic, no guessing
Minesweeper hands you a grid of numbered clues and hidden mines. Every board here is solvable by logic alone — the designer behind it builds boards the same way Sokoban's levels all ship with a verified solution: nothing you're asked to clear is actually impossible.
All three are free, work on a phone or a desktop, and don't ask for an account before you start — same as this Sokoban.
